Features & Benefits
- Both the inside and outside of window/door connecting walls should be plastered. There must be no obstructions in the hollow where the new window will be put. The sill must be well plastered.
- Each window should be shimmed to the plumb level suitably and properly.
- The cavity should be measured in three places, both in width and height, as shown below, with a maximum and lowest size difference of 12 mm in width and height.
- The breadth of the sill should be more than the width of the window frame.
- To be provided clear guidance whether the window should be flushed inside or externally, and how much space should be left outside or inside if the sill level is higher.
- Only after one coat of paint has been applied should the installation begin; no plaster of Paris work should be done on the window's joining face to the wall.
- If grills are to be added for slider windows or inward opening windows, they should be done before the window is fitted. It should be installed after the window is installed if it is an outward opening window.
